I undertook a two-week work experience placement with the user research team at the Parliamentary Digital Service. I gained hand-on experience conducting user interviews, observations and data analysis.

Qualitative Research Methods
I have training and experience conducting qualitative interviews with a range of participants, including elite interviews, and I have experience using visual methods within interview situations. I have experience using thematic analysis and familiarity with other data analysis approaches for qualitative data.
Independence and Initiative
I am comfortable working independently and using my initiative to find new opportunities. I have developed my ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including projects relating to my PhD as well as extra-curricular activities.
Interpersonal Skills and Team Working
Conducting interviews as part of my PhD has developed my interpersonal skills and my ability to quickly develop rapport, whilst attending academic conferences has developed my networking skills. I have experience working as part of cross-cultural teams, which has been gained through participating in university-led projects relating to digital technologies and the Web with partners in China.
I have developed strong written and verbal communication skills and feel confident communicating my ideas in a range of formats. I have published work on music recommendation and presented at conferences around the world on the topics of music streaming and music recommendation.
